Outerwear

One of my favorite things is outerwear. It's the numerous choice of scarves and hats and gloves. And now I am knitting myself a circle scarf, it will be great!
But here's how i looked today when I was getting ready to muster the cold weather.

Hat: Mom knitted it for me.
Scaft: Macy's
Coat: Donna Karan

And this is me...

So I just wanted to post a picture of this skirt I bought at a thrift store, it's wool and it's great for winter!
I never make my outfits too complicated, less is more in my opinion, so sorry if it seems boring to some of you.

Brothers Bloom

The movie Brothers Bloom is one of my favorite movies. The fashion is very 1930's but in an updated way, there is this chicness to it. My favorite character, Bang Bang, had such killer outfits throughout the whole movie. I think it's the hats that made the ensembles complete. I'm in love.

Absence of Draping

In the midst of this whole 80's revival there seems to be little to none Grecian inspired clothing. I was doing my daily browse through style.com and it just hit me, the draped and wispy silhouettes are no longer there. Recently I've been inspired by the epic poems the Iliad and Odyssey, written by Homer, and I've been in search of something style equivalent to the poems. I found a few designers that strayed from this season's popular styles such as big shoulders, tailored pants, and loud mixes of color and texture. Hermes' (which happens to be a name of a Greek messenger god) Spring 2010 collection was quite marvelous with its' sporty combinations and muted colors, there were a few draped, Grecian inspired pieces that really tickled my fashion taste buds.
This is probably my favorite by far:

Other than this, I've got nothing to say. I've just been painting recently, I did a portrait of Jim Morrison and it came out better than I thought. Here it is:

Have a good week everyone!

What is your sun?

What is that one thing that you revolve about? The center of your universe?
As much as I have tried to fight it, clothes, fashion, art, shoes, they all captivate me. Style, the constant innovations of various designers. There is no beginning and no end, fashion is a constant.

I will keep myself anonymous. All I want to do is share my love for something as broad as art to something as specific as Stuart Weitzman platforms. My goal isn't to be widely renown, or popular, my goal is just to share the love.
